Volunteering for CANDO

The CANDO board consists of six board positions (CANDO Chair, Resource Chair, Twice-Exceptional (2e) Resource Chair, Advocacy Chair, Program Chair, and Secretary-Treasurer) and numerous other volunteer-ready opportunities, including School Liaisons.

• Executive Board positions entail attending monthly board meetings and quarterly Gifted Committee meetings with BPS101 administrators and educators, and other areas of responsibility as outlined in the respective position descriptions in the CANDO bylaws (available at the bottom of the website's "About" page).
• School Liaison positions entail attending the quarterly Gifted Committee meetings, giving vital feedback in focus groups, serving as a point person for parents at your school, and working with Enrichment Coaches (this position is also outlined in our bylaws). 
  

All volunteers and members, whether for named positions or not, help CANDO's mission. Volunteers help to give BPS101 a more complete picture of our parent and student experiences with gifted and talented education issues. In addition, parent involvement and support for CANDO demonstrates to educators and administrators how important these concerns are to the BPS101 community. Together with the district, CANDO positively impacts the experiences of the BPS gifted and high-ability student population, and advocates for differentiation in education to meet the academic needs of all students so that they can reach their full potentials.
